ADMISSIONS

The Beaufort School Academy Trust is the admission authority for the School.  As an Academy Trust the Governing Body is part of Surrey County Council’s coordinated admissions scheme and applies equal preference rules. For Reception 2019 applications, the quickest and easiest way to apply for a school place is online.  Visit surreycc.gov.uk/admissions to access the application form and more information on the application process and admission arrangements for Surrey schools.  It is important that you consider this information carefully when you make your application.  You can start your online application any time from 29th October 2018 but you must have completed it by 15th January 2019. Places will be offered by Surrey County Council.  You will need to accept or decline your offer of a school place by 30th April 2019.

We have two Open Mornings for parents interested in a Reception place for September 2019.  These are on Thursday 8th November 2018 from 9.30-11.30am and Tuesday 20th November 2018 from 9.30-11.30am.  There is no need to book a place and children are welcome.  The Open Mornings will consist of a tour of the school by our Year 6 children and a short talk by the Headteacher at 10.30am.  After the tours the Headteacher, Deputy Heads, SENCo and Family Link Worker will all be available to speak with families over refreshments.

The school manages admissions to all other year groups itself and you should apply to the school directly if you would like a place.

It is essential to us that parents and children selecting Beaufort come to us with a clear idea of our ethos, our values and our expectations. Thus, we recommend that parents who wish to enrol their child into Beaufort School come to visit the school first. This offers the family a chance to ensure that the aims, values and ethos of the school are suitable for their child. Following this, parents may submit an ‘In Year Admissions’ application form. Each received application will be entered onto the school waiting list. Children who are Looked After by a Local Authority will be admitted to the school immediately.

When a space becomes available in the appropriate year group, the admissions officer for the school will select the appropriate child from the list using the school criteria for in-year admissions. A telephone call will be made to the appropriate child’s family to see if the place is still required and, if so, a suitable start date will be agreed.
